Rooivalk Attack Helicopter avionics and electronic test equipment:

Pilot and co-pilot Armament Control panel:

Epsilon developed these two avionics boxes for armaments bus control by the pilot and co-pilot of the Rooivalk Attack Helicopter.

We manufacture and test these boxes in our electronics laboratory. The design applies ergonomic principles, is user-friendly and highly functional, and reduces pilot and weapons officer workloads.

Weapon Station Junction box:

Epsilon developed an interface box for supplying the JETTISON signal to all Rooivalk’s weapon stations (hardpoints). The box is safety critical because it must only supply the signal when required and highly reliably.

Junction Box test set

Flight-line and workshop testing of looms and electronics connectors and relays is made easy with Epsilon's Loom Tester. The system is designed and tested to stringent military standards and is programmable for adapting the testing according to the test article.

Whilst robust and rugged the system is immensely powerful. Self-test processes allow for on-site determination of integrity of the Tester. Operator input is concise and clear. Maintenance is minimal and simple.

Mirage F1 Data recorder:

Epsilon designed, developed, manufactured, installed, tested and qualified an onboard flight data recorder for weapons computer information on the now obsolete Mirage F1. Running on 4 channels at 25 Kbps, the system has an onboard analogue arithmetic logical unit for processing digital data. Two of these units were installed on squadron aircraft to correlate physical performance during bombing with algorithms encoded on the Mirage’s WDNS (weapons delivery navigation system).
